1st Grade Teacher
Megan Beglinger, known as Mrs. Begs in school, has been teaching at St. Maria Goretti since 2008. She started as the first grade aide and then helped to develop the SMG Learning Resources department serving as the K-4 coordinator and then became the Reading Specialist. Mrs. Begs has now returned back to first grade as a classroom teacher.
She earned her teaching certification from Cardinal Stritch University in January 2016 and her Wisconsin Reading Teacher 316 License through Viterbo University in January 2021 to increase her knowledge and expertise in the areas of literacy and reading.
She grew up in Madison and is a proud St. Maria Goretti and Edgewood High School alum. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology and Anthropology in 1997.
Megan and her husband, Jonathan, were married at St. Maria Goretti in 1998. They have two wonderful daughters, both graduated from St. Maria Goretti. Madeline is attending University of Minnesota-Minneapolis and Sydney is at UW-Oshkosh. They have an adorable Bernese Mountain dog named Lambeau, and a huge Golden Mountain dog named Gus.
As a family, they enjoy frequent trips to Walt Disney World, road trips, dinner with Grandma or Grammy, spending time around town with friends, DIY projects in the yard or around the house, or just relaxing together on the couch watching tv.
She feels blessed to be a part of this wonderful, caring, and supportive parish and school family!
