Margaret Forystek

Margaret Forystek

Art Teacher Grades 5-8

Margaret Forystek began working at St. Maria Goretti in 2021.

She grew up in Chicago in a large family and attended Catholic elementary school. Her parents were devout, resourceful, and of modest means, yet adept at antique and artifact collecting. Margaret says that they were pickers before it was popular. Their clever utilization of found treasures, along with the abundance of beautiful churches and fascinating architecture of the city had a lasting influence on her, ultimately inspiring her to study Art and Antique Restoration.

Margaret and her husband, Jack, eventually moved to Wisconsin and settled in rural Milton with their four children. She attended UW-Whitewater and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and Art Education. She taught K-12 Art in the Milton School District where her children attended. Upon retirement, she pursued her interest in antique and artifact restoration, and is currently restoring antique religious statuary.

Together with her husband, Margaret enjoys long road trips to visit their children and grandchildren, who are spread out in four states. They are members of St. Patrick Parish in Janesville, Wisconsin.
