Anne Hutton has been working and volunteering at St. Maria Goretti since 2011. She worked as a playground supervisor for 7 years, and has been a substitute teacher at SMG since the spring of 2020. In 2021, she became the 7th grade homeroom teacher and then transitioned to Learning Resources, as well as serving as the in-building substitute teacher. She also served on the Home and School board for 5 years.
She has a bachelor's degree in History and Sociology from Boston College, and a master's in Social Work also from Boston College.
She grew up in New Jersey, and lived in Boston, Massachusetts for 13 years. She met her husband in Boston, and after returning to live in New Jersey for 5 more years, she moved to Madison in 2010. While in Boston she worked as a social worker specializing in strengths based work with children and families. While in New Jersey, she worked as a school social worker for a year, and also as a tutor focusing on standardized test prep.
Anne has two boys, the older one graduated from SMG in 2020, and the younger is an 8th grader this year. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling (especially visits to her beloved New Jersey shore), going on hikes in Wisconsin state parks and on the Ice Age Trail, watching movies, making crafts, and spending time with family.
