The Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols first began on Christmas Eve in 1918 at King's College, Cambridge. Today, this Festival remains a prominent part of the Christmas celebrations that occur in churches throughout the world. Beginning with the ever-familiar hymn "Once in Royal David's City," the Festival takes us through nine lessons from Holy Scripture that captures the reality of mankind's birth to the Word becoming flesh in our Lord Jesus Christ. Interspersed throughout each reading are carols and hymns that continue to reiterate the story born of old.

Come and join the St. Maria Goretti Choir and Schola Cantorum as they celebrate the completion of the Christmas season on Epiphany Sunday in this Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols.
