Luke House Meal
Notice to Luke House Volunteers
Due to the COVID-19 virus, Luke House is only providing brown bagged meals until further notice. Luke House staff are buying, putting together, and distributing the bagged meals. SMG is, however, donating and packaging the desserts. If you are interested in baking desserts, please contact Barb Tereba at 608-277-0961.
SMG is reimbursing Luke House for the cost of the brown bag meals from the Outreach Fund. Donations to the Outreach Fund are appreciated. You can donate online to the Outreach Fund or by using your blue Outreach envelope and mailing it to the parish office. Thank you!
Luke House Community Meal
On the second Thursday of the month, St. Maria Goretti provides, prepares, serves, and shares the free community meal at Luke House, 310 S. Ingersoll Street in Madison. Those who come to rely on The Community Meal Program do so for many reasons – most of them having to do with some dimension of poverty.
Volunteers provide and prepare the food and drop it off at St. Maria Goretti on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
On Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., volunteers set up and serve the food, and clean up afterwards. The meal is at 12 p.m. As we are inviting those who use The Community Meal Program to share the bounty of our table the volunteers eat with our guests.
