Catholic Faith Formation (All Ages)
All members of the parish are invited to participate in Catholic Faith Formation. Whether you come as an entire family, a single person, or a group of high school or middle school friends, we offer something for everyone regardless of your age or knowledge of the Catholic Faith.
Catholic Faith Formation has grown from the Family Catechesis program at SMG. We have created a schedule for this academic year that aims at fostering community and encouraging continuing faith formation for all age groups.
Our program model balances community events and formational nights so that there are opportunities for parishioners to both socialize and dive deeper into our Catholic Faith.
Wednesday Formation Nights
Wednesday nights are focused on formation and education in the Catholic faith. We will begin those evenings first with 30 minutes of Eucharistic Adoration in the church, followed by classes catered to each age group. The area of study for each week will rotate between Catechism Formation, various Catholic Topics, and Sacramental Formation.
Sunday Community Events
Sunday nights and afternoons are focused on fostering community. On the first Sunday of the month, we will have events to attend as a family or individual to get to know the other members of our parish at a more intentional level. The third Sunday of the month features a Community Lunch following the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass aimed at the same purpose as the Community Nights, but offered at a different time.
Sacramental Preparation for both First Holy Communion and Confirmation are integrated in our formation model and will take place at the same time as our Wednesday formation nights on the third Wednesday of the month.
