Scrip is gift certificates that you use like cash at your favorite stores, gas stations and restaurants. You buy them from SMG and spend them as you wish. Scrip is a fundraiser for the SMG Home and School Board. Because of Scrip, we don’t ask families to sell anything else as a school fundraiser.
Scrip is available for sale in the School office and after Masses the second and fourth weekends of the month (first three weekends in December).
Here is a list of retailers that you can buy gift certificates for through the Scrip Program. There are a many national and local retailers who participate and the rebate they contribute is listed as well.
Why should I buy Scrip?
SMG pays a discounted rate for the gift certificates you purchase, SMG earns money and you earn credit towards:
- SMG school tuition
- Youth Ministry/Religious Education tuition
- SMG’s Saving for the Future
- SMG Youth Ministry/Religious Education Program.
- School Families Needing Assistance.
- Cash refund
How much can we earn?
For example, if you buy $100 Hy-Vee gift card, the rebate amount is 5%. So SMG receives $2.50 and you are credited $2.50 towards SMG school tuition or other credit options above.
If you only bought one $100 Hy-Vee gift card from Scrip per month for a year, you would earn $30 in tuition credit and SMG would receive $30 just for you buying the groceries you need with a Scrip gift card, but trust us, you’ll want to buy more!
How do I buy Scrip?
What does Scrip profits get used for?
- $25,000 contribution to the recent remodel of SMG teacher space.
- Activities during Catholic Schools Week
- Teacher and Classroom Equipment
