Educational Objectives
Our objectives for the school year are to ensure that each of our parish children:
- Becomes aware that s/he is a unique and special part of God’s Family.
- Understands the Church is God’s family.
- Understands s/he is a child of God.
- Articulates that God made us and loves us.
- Identifies members of the Holy Family.
- Understands Mary is Jesus’ mother.
- Understands Joseph is Jesus’ earthly father.
- Is acquainted with the story of creation.
- Recognizes appreciates and takes care of God’s creation.
- Understands prayer is talking to God.
- Understands that God listens to each person’s prayer.
- Demonstrates and participates in grace before meals.
- Demonstrates and participates the Sign of the Cross.
- Becomes aware of other formal prayers. (e.g. Our Father, Hail Mary)
- Becomes aware of right and wrong.
- We forgive those who hurt us as God forgives us.
- Can recall all or part of the “Christmas Story”.
