Worship And Prayer Commission
The Worship and Prayer Commission is responsible for making recommendations for the liturgical and spiritual life of the parish to the pastor and the parish council. We assist at parish liturgical seminars and enrichment opportunities. We also strive to promote other prayer opportunities for parishioners.
Commission Chairperson: Sharon Hurtgen
The commission oversees four main areas: Baptism preparations, Marriage preparations, Intercessory Prayer group and the Liturgy Committee, which coordinates all liturgical ministries and activities having to do with the celebration of the Mass. Please click on each area below to learn more.
Parent Preparation Classes - On the first Wednesday of each month, a baptismal preparation class is held to renew the parents' understanding of baptism and to prepare the parents for the actual celebration of the baptism of their child. Trained parishioners facilitate this class.
Day of the Baptism. On the actual day of the Baptism, a coordinator meets the family, helps them get settled for the celebration and helps with the details of the celebration.

"Baptism is a wonderful sacrament to be a part of. It is a time when a person is invited into the faith and is united with Christ. Parents and Godparents (relatives and friends), renew their baptismal vows and promise to help this person grow in faith. So many levels of conversion towards Christ are witnessed. What a splendid gift parents can give their children! It is an awesome witness, as well as, a privilege to be a part of!"
Members of this ministry pray specifically for the needs of parish members. When the need of a parish member is known, word is spread through the prayer line (telephone) and each member prays for that need.
