50th Jubilee News

Our 50th Anniversary Celebration began in September 2008 and came to a close Saturday June 13 with the Anniversary Mass and Founder’s dinner. It was a wonderful year of activities: the publication of the cookbook, and the pictorial directory, the mission with Fr. Pete and the Mass and Founder’s dinner which was held in conjunction with Gorettifest.

The Charter Member committee worked all year verifying addresses of founding members, collecting pictures and memorabilia and planning the Founder’s dinner. Many thanks to Helen Bakke , Margo Lindl, Caryl Bremer, Barbara Brown, Darlene and Ralph Richardson, Dave Ross and Terri Wiedenbeck.

We will gather memorabilia to put in the corner stone to be opened 50 years from now in 2059. The box will be sealed and replaced in the wall by December 31.

The Commemorative Garden was introduced and literature can be found on the information table in the corridor or download the brochure here. This is a wonderful way to honor a special event or person in your lives.

Our theme “Gathering and Growing in Faith” will continue throughout the next 50 years and on. The St. Maria Goretti Parish community is the BEST.

John Hahn is the winner of the monthly “Liturgical Trivia question” drawing. He wins dinner for two at Ruth’s Chris Restaurant. Congratulations John!
